Pras Michel speaks out on legal issues and his bond with The Fugees
Speaking to Variety while awaiting sentencing for criminal conspiracy charges stemming from a multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, Pras Michel makes it sound like he’s moving on from The Fugees.
In his reminiscences, Pras projected thoughts about friends who have shunted him aside in the midst of what he pins high legal charge as he sits for sentencing that could see him go to prison for not less than 22 years. Although he does not specifically mention Wyclef Jean or Ms. Lauryn Hill, it is implied that he is referring to his former bandmates.
“I’m done with that. They’re going to tour over in Europe. I can’t go, so,” he said. “It’s what it is. You can’t just give people that kind of energy. Sure, you can be frustrated or disappointed, but I truly believe in my path and my journey. What is meant for me, no one can take away.”
“Better to have a few people in whom you can believe everything than surround yourself with a hundred people who disappear the moment defeat approaches,” said the other.
