Roddy Ricch wants to reach the families

Tragedy struck the Astroworld Festival on Friday (Nov. 5). A total of 8 people lost their lives, with hundreds being injured. In the wake of the event, Roddy Ricch has taken to his Instagram story to pledge a donation of his entire net earnings from his performance.

“Please have the families of those who we lost yesterday reach out,” Roddy posted on his Instagram story. The “Down Below” artist continued with, “I’ll [be] donating my net compensation to the families of this incident. #Pray4Houston.”

He urged that the victims’ families reach out to Shawn Holiday, one his managers and co-head of urban music at Columbia Records. He is also part of the Black Music Action Coalition’s advisory board, per Variety reports.

Among the 8 festivalgoers, one was a 14 and 16-year-old, with the other victims ranging from ages 17-21.

Travis Scott took to his Instagram story to voice his devastation on Friday night’s occurrence and is fully cooperative with the Houston Police Department. Day two of the festival was canceled for Saturday (Nov. 6) and Travis, as unidentified industry sources have noted, is “highly unlikely to perform at Day N Vegas festival this upcoming weekend. He was set to headline the 3-day festival.
