Conway The Machine announces a new album dropping in a few weeks. The Griselda member took to social media on Wednesday (April 24) to share the cover art for his new album, SFK, as well as a release date of May 10. Although it’s not clear what the initials in the title stand for, some internet users think it might be Slant Face Killer.
In the past several months, Conway has been teasing the “B-sides” of his last year’s album, Won’t He Do It, but he hasn’t clarified if it will materialize on next month’s release.
Conway has been fighting anxiety following 2012 shooting
Conway The Machine has never been the same since getting shot in the head in 2012 while leaving a club in Buffalo, leacing the right side of his face paralyzed. During a recent conversation on My Expert Opinion podcast, the Griselda rapper opened up about his mental health struggles that resulted from the incident.
“I don’t know because I’m just a recluse. I’ll be like just dolo to myself,” Conway said, before continuing, “I think that came from getting shot.”
He added, “So I’m looking at clubs like, ‘I don’t go out man. I ain’t going to that party, I ain’t going to that event, I don’t want to do that anymore. ‘What time the interview? 10:30? Naw, I’m good bro. I’m chilling, I’m already inside.”
The Machine says both Benny and Freddie are his friends
Conway The Machine doesn’t like how the situation ended up between his Griselda teammate Benny The Butcher and Freddie Giggs. Benny and Freddie were on each other’s necks in 2022 and went back and forth online. Conway was recently chopping it up with DJ Akademiks on Off The Record when the Benny and Freddie topic came up.
Conway made it clear that he was frustrated that two of his friends were at odds. “It’s a fucked up situation for me, personally, man,” Conway explained. “That n***a Gibbs my n***a, man. I wish that shit never happened. … I would love to squash that. I wish I could have. If I was there, I don’t know if that would’ve happened. I’m talking about none of it, not just the shit that they talking about. I’m talking about the shit that [came] before.
“I just wish that shit never happened, man. Gibbs, I just know how he do, man. He’s a funny dude on that internet shit and on Twitter and stuff,” he added. “He was wrong, I’ve spoke with people. But I don’t wanna say too much, man. Gibbs my n***a regardless. I don’t give a fuck. And Benny my cousin, I’m riding with Benny regardless of whatever happens. But if it was up to me, none of that shit would’ve never happened. None of it.”
Conway The Machine and 38 Spesh are about to bless the world with a new collaborative album. Recently chopping it up with the Bootleg Kev, Spesh revealed that he and The Machine have been working on a 10-song project titled Special Machinery which is set to drop this year.
“Me and Conway got an album,” Spesh said. “The people gotta get ready for that. It’s done, I’m gonna follow up after Gunsmoke with that. The name of that album is called Special Machinery.” Needless to say, it’s going to be a busy year for 38 Spesh, though we’re sure he’ll have even more heat in the cut beyond these two efforts.”
He continued, “something serious, Special Machinery, we on there getting busy and shit, you know what I’m saying. I produced the whole joint, me and my guy Jimmy Dukes. He’s a producer from out of Buffalo, we produced the whole joint.”
Conway also says his merch will be ready for delivery “any day now”
Griselda rapper Conway The Machine has canceled his I’ll Tell You Later Tour. The MC made the announcement on Instagram Friday (August 26).
“Well, the bad news is the tour is canceled,” he wrote on IG. “The good news is my pack has finally landed and you all will be getting your merch that you ordered any day now.”
DMX’s long-time friend and collaborator, Swizz Beatz, has shared the tracklist for the late rapper’s first posthumous album, Exodus. Taking to Instagram on Friday (May 14), Swizz also unveiled the back cover for the album, set to be released on May 28, which will be on a Friday.
The tracklist features 13 songs with plenty of guest appearances like The LOX, Snoop Dogg, Nas, JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Griselda, Moneybagg Yo, and U2’s Bono. The features are spread all through the tracklist except on “Exodus Skit” and the closing track, “Prayer.”
Swizz posted the album update shortly after he held a listening party with a select few on a Zoom call. During the call, Swizz opened up about X’s perspective towards the album. “This project meant a lot to him,” He shared with the roughly 200 people on the call. “It was something he showed up to do and couldn’t wait for people to hear. It was a project he wanted the world to hear. We didn’t want to wait too long because he didn’t want to wait too long. The album’s name is Exodus, which he has across his neck and is on the album cover. It’s also his youngest son’s name.”
Keep an eye out as we will alert you when Exodus drops.
Conway The Machine keeps momentum brewing with ‘La Maquina’ album
After teasing the project on social media, Conway The Machine unleashes La Maquina. The album is packed with 11 tracks with assistance from fellow Griselda members and frequent collaborators Benny The Butcher and Westside Gunn. It also features the likes of J. I. D, 2 Chainz, and more. Ludacris is also featured on the recently released “Scatterbrains” along with J. I.D.
Production on La Maquina is handled by Griselda’s in-house producer Daringer. Conway also raps over instruments created by Alchemist, Murda Beatz and Don Cannon.
Conway Machine announces new album is coming, end of January
Griselda Records is filled with some of the hardest working rappers in the game. Built from the cloth of quantity and quality, the guys still show they’re going to put in more work, including Conway The Machine, who announced he’s dropping an album at the end of the month.
Conway dropped his official debut album From King to a God on September 11th of last year. He turned around and added a deluxe on December 18th.
Griselda and BSF’s ‘Conflicted’ soundtrack was dropped off on January 8th. The soundtrack didn’t feature Conway, leaving fans to believe he may be leaving Griselda. Conway said he’s not on the soundtrack or the film because he couldn’t act, but his tweets blurred the lines on whether he’d be leaving the label and crew in the near future. “I have one more album left,” Conway said on Twitter, to someone trying to confirm the rumor.
It looks like we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, his new album is dropping at the end of the month.
