Kanye West reportedly utilized unconventional methods of funding in making the purchase of a Beverly Hills mansion worth $35 million.
As per a Daily Mail report published on Monday (Nov. 11), Kanye and his spouse, Bianca Censori, acquired loans in the amount of $15.5M.
Out of this, $12.5 million was sourced from Lone Oak Fund and its investment arm, Lone Oak Industries, while almost $2.7 million was lent by an entity owned by fitness moguls Richard and Lucy Glassman.
Glassman discussed their reasons for funding Kanye with the publication, explaining: “When you have a total of 40 percent loan to value, it’s a good investment. This is the great creativity of the broker, it’s not the creativity of Kanye West, they do all the due diligence, I’m just the little guy. To be totally honest, sometimes when investors look at celebrities, they don’t want to do it. Well, it definitely is, because if they don’t pay, we get a $35 million property.”
He continued: “But we would prefer they just pay, we don’t want to hurt nobody, we’re just investors. We want to get a return on our money.”
Lupe Fiasco has recently opened up on Child Rebel Soldier (CRS) – the group he formed along with Kanye West and Pharrell, which is well-known for putting out only a handful of shattering songs in the late 2000s.
Speaking on Sway in the Morning on October 4, Lupe spoke about their 2007 first single “Us Placers” and how he tried to revive the name of the group last summer. The rapper noted that he was on cordial terms with both Ye and Skateboard P but understood the fans’ frustration on how little material the group produced.
“There [was] a lot of fan momentum around it as a movement” Lupe explained. “We always talked about [the group, but] it kind of fell to the wayside… And then again, n-ggas get rich and crazy and shit goes left.
“That whole time, it’s incubating with people like Tyler[, the Creator],” he added.
“One of the talks was like, ‘Yo, we old n-ggas and rich and doing other shit,’” Lupe went on. “‘Why don’t we just get the dudes who would be us now, and just give them CRS and let them do it? What if CRS was the hip-hop Exile?’”
Kanye West has thanked Drake for his assistance with certain lyrics, which adds another layer to their ongoing conflict.
Kanye and Ty Dolla Sign had a Vultures listen session in China for their second time and performance last week.
A video from the show that began making rounds on Thursday, October 3, features Kanye performing his 2018 song “Yikes” and thanking Drake for writing the chorus.
“I wanna thank Drake for writing this chorus for me,” Ye told the crowd.
Ye and Adidas come to agreement without going to court
Kanye West and Adidas have settled down their legal row which ensued in 2022 when Adidas pulled out from associating with West due to alleged anti-Semitism by the latter. It was reported on Tuesday (Oct 29) by Reuters that the parties opted for an amicable resolution without going to court.
“Both parties said we don’t need to fight anymore and withdrew all the claims,” Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden stated, according to Complex. “The agreement didn’t include any payments. No one owes anybody anything anymore. So whatever was is history.
“There were tensions on many issues, and… when you put the claims on the right side and you put the claims on the left side, both parties said we don’t need to fight anymore and withdrew all the claims,”
Kanye West has made a hefty resolution of a class-action suit against his Yeezy line, which includes a payment running into six figures.
On Wednesday, InTouch reported that Ye’s apparel has settled this claim by paying a specified amount to a former employee.
As revealed by court filings, ex-employees Taliah Leslie and Shelby Grochowski sought the court’s endorsement of the settlement agreement they reached with West and his representative.
In this case, Ye, together with his brand, will remit the sum of 625,000 US dollars.
Kanye ‘Ye’ West and Ty Dolla $ign (group name aka ¥$) have announced another “Vultures Listening Experience”, that is set to take place in Seoul, South Korea on August 23rd, 2024.
The event/listening experience was announced by Ye’s long time collaborator and creative music director Aus Taylor via Instagram. Posts from Ty Dolla $ign, Yzy, and more would follow. (Ye does not currently have any active Social Media)
Yzy reposts Ty Dolla’s announcement post about the Korea Listening Party on Instagram
The August event will take place at Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. It will be Ye’s first ever stand alone concert in Korea and Ye’s first time there since a music festival in 2010.
Goyang Sports Complex – where the August Vultures Event will take place
In an article by Rolling Stone Korea it gave detail in what to expect for the event, “Ye’s first solo performance in Korea will be one of the most memorable music experiences of the year, further cementing his reputation as a global icon. This performance will provide fans with an unforgettable musical experience and will be an opportunity to once again see Ye’s innovative music and artistic vision. This performance, which will be engraved in the hearts of fans around the world, is preparing a stage so amazing that it will be shocking.”
The event announcement may come as a random surprise, but Ye has frequently expressed his excitement to visit Asian countries and connect with his fans there. In June, Ye gave fans a surprise special performance in a wrestling ring at ‘Wangmania’ in Tokyo, Japan. Not long after that, rumors of an upcoming live show in South Korea sparked when Aus Taylor was seen touring stadiums in the area. Ye also spent most of his time creating and recording his collab album ‘Kids See Ghosts‘ with longtime collaborator Kid Cudi in Japan.
This Korea event announcement should excite fans following delayed drop dates and little information about the second installment ,Vultures 2, from the ¥$ group. Vultures 1 released in February following multiple listening events across the United States. Even after the album dropped the events continued, which included Kanye and Ty among other collaborators dancing and listening to songs from Vultures 1, Classic Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign songs, and even teasing unreleased possible Vultures 2 songs.
Vultures 1 would go on to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200 after a five-day tracking period, selling 148,000 album-equivalent units in it’s first week. V1 also included a number 1 song for the ¥$ duo, “Carnival” which reached number-one on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming West’s first chart-topper in 13 years. “Carnival” also became the first number-one song for Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti, as well as the second number-one for Ty Dolla $ign.
Will the South Korean Listening Experience in August include songs only from Vultures 2, or a combination like before? On Aus Taylor’s Instagram post someone commented “I can smell vultures 2” which was promptly liked by Aus himself.
Could this be the start of the Vultures 2 rollout? Time will tell.

Charlamagne thinks Ye’s music is no longer relevant
Charlamagne Tha God shares his opinion about the state Kanye West’s career. The radio host recently claimed that people do not care about Ye’s music anymore.
“If Kanye would’ve done this 10 years ago,” Charlamagne said, referring to Ye’s attempt to join the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar beef. “Its like OH SH*T…. nobody gives a f*ck about Kanye rapping in 2024,” he added.
Ye had been trying to get involved in the popular beef on Instagram and X and even released his own verse on Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” on K. Dot’s side.
