  • Future and producer Rico Wade (Organized Noize) are cousins

Future and producer Rico Wade (Organized Noize) are cousins

Future and producer Rico Wade— member of Organized Noize, a legendary Atlanta hip-hop production group— are cousins. Rico Wade has produced many southern classic albums, a majority of OutKast’s albums, TLC’s 1995 single Waterfalls and many more.

Future credits his first cousin Rico Wade as his musical influence. Rico took Future off the streets and made him a young member of the Dungeon Family’s second generation, which included other artists like Killer Mike, Bubba Sparxxx, Slimm Calhoun, The Calhouns, Konkrete and Purple Ribbon All-Stars.

“I took him out of the trap then, He knew he had to sit in the back and watch. He knew better than to jump in with the grown folks.” says Wade, using the 15-year-old Future’s early love of rap as a way to get him to spend more time in the Dungeon.

  • Future’s “Codeine Crazy” beat was originally for Nicki Minaj

Future’s “Codeine Crazy” beat was originally for Nicki Minaj

Future released his mixtape Monster on October 28, 2014. The beat to Codeine Crazy, the last song on the project, was originally made for Nicki Minaj. Producer TM88 revealed in a 2017 interview, Future’s Monster beat was meant for Nicki Minaj’s third studio album, The Pinkprint.

“I really made the beat for Nicki, She was working on her album and I wanted to give her some beats so bad, and I ended up not getting them to her. Future called, I think it was the next day or next two days, and he was like, ‘Bro, I need some beats. I’m going in. I need you.’ I was like, ‘fuck it,’ and I sent the whole pack to him. Ended up getting a lot of stuff that’s on Monster, and Codeine Crazy is one of them.” – TM88 told HNHH

TM88 also produced Fetti, After That, and Showed Up on Monster.

Future’s 2014 mixtape Monster is now on all streaming platforms. Watch and Listen to Codeine Crazy below.
