Joyner Lucas Challenges Meek Mill to a Rap Battle, URL Supports the Match

‘Yup, I’m Ready to Battle, Meek Mill’ – Joyner Lucas Calls Out Meek for a URL Showdown

Joyner Lucas has officially challenged Meek Mill to a rap battle and has the backing of the Ultimate Rap League (URL). The challenge came after Lucas expressed on X (formerly Twitter) that he was considering stepping back into the battle rap arena.

Lucas wrote, “Sometimes I low key be feelin like I wanna get in the URL battle rap ring,” to which URL responded with enthusiasm: “Let’s do it.” At first, Lucas said he was open to facing any battle rapper URL could throw at him but later proposed a different idea. He suggested doing a one-round battle to ease back into the ring, but he also hinted at wanting to battle a peer, someone who wasn’t already a seasoned vet.

That’s when Lucas threw the gauntlet to Meek Mill: “Wasup @meekmill.”

Although Meek Mill has yet to respond to the challenge publicly, URL confirmed that they are working to make the battle happen. They noted that commercial artists have increasingly turned to URLs as a platform to settle lyrical rivalries or prove their rap skills.

Lucas’s challenge has sparked buzz within the hip-hop community, especially with commercial artists looking to display their lyrical abilities in battle rap form. URL is excited about bringing this battle to fruition and adding excitement to the current competitive rap scene.

    Joyner describes Eminem’s elusiveness

Joyner Lucas is marvelled by how evasive Eminem is within the industry. During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, the Massachusetts native explained how difficult it is to get to Slim Shady due to his buttoned-up character.

“Getting on the phone with him, you can probably hop on the phone quicker with Barack [Obama] than you can hop on the phone with Marshall,” Joyner said. “That n-gga’s calling you from a line with his manager’s assistant who is calling you from a 1800 number and it’s like elevator music and, ‘Please hold, Marshall’s coming to the phone.’”

He added, “You can’t have his number. Nobody has his number. He’s not accessible. You can’t talk to him. It’s like hopping on the phone with the president.”
