Tyler’s new album earns decent numbers
Tyler, The Creator’s new studio effort Chromakopia opens at number one on the Billboard 200 in the first week.
The project, which marks the Odd Future rapper’s eight studio album, sold a total of 299,500 equivalent album units, Billboard confirmed.
Of the whole volume, 157,000 units came via on-demand streams that saw 212.55 million enabled plays, while 142,000 units were generated from sales of pure copies. The other 500 units were made up of sales accruing from track equivalent album (TEA).
The album is biggest album debut of the year, only behind Travis Scott‘s 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo which was commercially re-released in September.
