After multiple delays, Kanye West finally released his ninth solo studio album, JESUS IS KING, this past Friday. The album was received with a wide array of reviews, with many praising his ability to once again push the boundaries of hip-hop while still making incredible music. Others, however, were not huge fans of his gospel-themed album, hoping for a more traditional Ye project (if such a thing exists).

Regardless of how you feel about JESUS IS KING, one thing cannot be denied: Kanye is still Kanye when it comes to selling records. The album is expected to sell between 225,000 and 275,000 units in the first week, with 60,00 to 85,000 coming from traditional sales. This will easily be enough to earn Kanye his ninth No. 1 solo album, and tenth No. 1 overall, meaning he has never failed to have an album reach the top spot. JESUS IS KING is also dominating the Apple Music and Spotify charts, claiming a majority of the top spots on each. It appears that Kanye has once again found success and, no matter how he acts, his music continues to speak for itself. Let us know what you think of the album, and keep an eye out for Kanye’s JESUS IS KING tour, which is rumored to be starting soon.
