Dolph’s killer claims evidence did not reach conviction requirements
Young Dolph’s convicted killer Justin Johnson is appealing for another trial citing issues with evidence in the trial. Last month, he was convicted of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and first-degree murder, as well as possession of a firearm as a felon.
As reported by the Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Johnson submitted the new trial motion that maintains that the evidence adduced was not sufficient for a conviction. He claims that the jury should not have viewed photographs of Dolph’s corpse and further claims that it was wrong for the court to disallow him from being next to his counsel during the proceedings.
At present, Johnson has been sentenced to a life imprisonment due to the murder conviction and is expecting sentencing for the remaining charges.
