Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti’s ’16*29′ project was first announced in 2017
Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti have proved to be a perfect duo thanks to their previous memorable collaborations. The good news is that there is still hope of getting a collab project from the two.
On Monday (August 23), Uzi hinted that 16*29, the long-awaited joint tape with Carti, is on the way. “16*29 💋 xxxxxxx,” Uzi tweeted.
To provide assurance to any doubters, the “Chrome Heart Tags” rapper asked fans to confirm with Carti. “Bro just ask carti 🥱 🔥,” he wrote in a separate tweet.
The joint effort was first teased in September 2017 when Carti posted a pic of Captain Sensible and Dave Vanian of ‘70s London punk stalwarts The Damned with the caption, “Carti Uzi Tape * Uzi Carti Tape * 16.29.”
The title is inspired by the respective neighborhoods the two artists come from. Uzi is from the 1600 block in Philly and Carti is from the 2900 block in Atlanta.
