On October 30, 2021, NYC rappers Jay-Z and LL Cool J were both inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held in Cleveland, OH. They join rap pioneers Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jay-Z gave the award to the Flash and company in 2007 so this was somewhat of a full-circle moment for Hova.
LL Cool J was an early breakout artist on Def Jam in the 1980s and '90s. Jay-Z took over the company in the 2000s and a beef led to LL Cool J taking a break from music. Both rappers have hit records for days and some speculate they could make a dynamic Verzuz, although Jay-Z has already stated that nobody can see him in a Verzuz. Congrats to two of the best to ever do it, GOAT level emcees.
