Durk teased his 7220 album in November 2021 when he posted a whiteboard with the plans for the album written all over it. “The Voice in album mode,” he wrote on his Instagram story. “7220 album coming soon.”

The whiteboard displayed a hidden tracklist as well as features. Part of the message on the board promised a no-skip album. “ANTHEMS AND NO SKIPS,” the board read.

The number 7220 represents an area code in Chicago's where Durk grew up with his grandmother and other family members. The album release date is yet to be announced.
