Tay K celebrates his 22nd birthday with a new photo
Incarcerated rapper Tay K celebrates his 22nd birthday today (June 16) from behind bars. An alleged latest photo of him has emerged on social media showing the rapper on a jail phone while sporting an orange jumpsuit.
Born Taymor Mclntyre, Tay K was arrested in 2017 on murder and robbery charges, he was 19 at the time. In July 2019, the Santana World rapper was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the murder charge, 30 years in prison for one of the counts of aggravated robbery, and two 13-year prison sentences for two other counts of aggravated robbery. All the sentences are running concurrently.
Tay announced on his 2021 birthday that his case is on appeal and that he's hoping to come home sooner than we think. The Texas native unveiled his optimism during an Instagram live stream where he spoke through a jail phone.
“The coming home situation and shit I know a lot of people wanna know about that and shit,” he explained. “A lot of people think it's over, on hood, it's not. My case on appeal right now, so that's looking good, you know. There's still hope and shit, you know, there's definitely still a chance for me to come home on an appeal bond.”
Tay continued, “It's like when you bond out but you don't appeal your case so they got to give you a bond. And then I have a bond here so imma bond out on both of those. That's kind of what I want to happen.”
