In 2008, Remy Ma was arrested for shooting Makeda Barnes-Joseph, her friend, although she denies shooting anybody. She was sentenced to 8 years in jail but was released in 2014.
She is most well known for her work with Fat Joe on the 2004 song “Lean Back” and 2016's “All the Way Up,” which also features French Montana.
