The rapper was drafted to fight Putin's war in Ukraine

A Russian rapper who goes by the moniker Walkie reportedly committed suicide on September 30 after being drafted to fight in Putin's invasion of Ukraine. According to Daily Mail, 27-year old Ivan Vitalievich Petunin jumped from a building as a protest against Putin's conscription.

The rapper left a clip on his Telegram channel saying, “If you are watching this video, then I am no longer alive. I can't take the sin of murder on my soul and I don't want to. I am not ready to kill for any ideals.”

He added, “I choose to remain in history forever. As a man who did not support what was happening I am not ready to take up arms and kill my own kind.”

Walkie had served in the Russian army before and had been treated for mental illness.
