Weeknd continues to dominate Spotify
The Weeknd isn't done breaking new records. This weekend, the Canadian superstar became the first black artist to have an album accumulate 10B streams in Spotify history, thanks to his blockbuster record, Starboy.
The album was released in 2016 as Weeknd's third studio album via XO and Republic Records. It featured appearances from Daft Punk, Lana Del Rey, Kendrick Lamar, and Future. For production, Weeknd recruited the likes of Diplo, Cashmere Cat, Metro Boomin, Frank Dukes, and Labrinth and more.
It became Weeknd's second consecutive No. 1 album after moving 348K equivalent album units in the opening week.
