Herb wants to help his community tackle mental health issues
G Herbo launches a non-profit organization Swervin' Through Stress to give the Black community a space to freely talk about their mental problems. Recently speaking to Billboard, Herb explained that he feels like the topic of mental health isn't discussed enough in his community.
“Our community doesn't talk about mental health enough,” he explained. “With Swervin' Through Stress, I really wanted to create a space where it's OK for us to talk about what we're going through.”
Swervo continued: “A lot of us can relate to each other's struggles.”
The non-profit organization will partner with Social Works to hold a Black Joy Ride on Saturday (May 20) in Chicago. The joy ride will begin and stop at the Harold Washington Cultural Center.
