Maybe you have heard a rapper say “Skrrt” or “Skrt!” Or heard a background ad-lib, “skrrrrt skrrrt.” or “Skr” But what exactly is that word/sound and what does it mean?
The term “skrrt” is a word that represents the sound of wheels when you drift or turn abruptly in a vehicle. The “skrrt” term can also be used as a slang word to express excitement and humor. It has also been known as describing the ‘curving’ or ‘skrrting’ in avoiding a girl or a situation. Such as “that girl wanna smash I said Skrt!” As if you are intentionally avoiding hanging with a girl and instead abruptly turned away from her direction.
G-Eazy drops the two new tracks, released only on soundcloud, are covers to Bob Dylan’s ‘Don’t Think Twice‘ and The XX’s ‘VCR.’ They join the company of G-Eazy’s other covers he’s dropped in the past month. Including covers of the Beatles, ‘Im So Tired‘ & ‘When I’m Sixty Four‘, Radiohead’s ‘Creep‘ featuring Ashley Benson, and Michael Jackson’s ‘Who Is It‘.
In a recent Instagram post releasing the 2 new covers, G-Eazy explained throughout quarantine he has “been in the studio working, getting back to engineering & producing just having fun experimenting with new sounds.”
It definitely sounds like these songs mean a lot to Gerald, as he is very emotional and worked hard to hit the same pitch and notes as the original artists in the songs had. I personally very much enjoy the G-Eazy covers.

Although it is a little out of the ordinary to drop music any other day than Thursday night at midnight, this is a mixtape and not a formal studio album.
Chris Brown also posted the tracklist to his Instagram story. It appears the features were hidden from this 13 song tracklist.
Breezy and Thugger most recently collabed on Chris’s song ‘High End‘ in 2017.
As 2020 is already 1/3rd over, many have already took to social media to express that the first four months of 2020 were better music-wise than all of 2019 combined.
Notable albums that have dropped in 2020 thus far include (in chronological order by release) Circles by Mac Miller, Revenge of the Dreamers III (deluxe) by Dreamville, Funeralby Lil Wayne, My Turn by Lil Baby, Eternal Atake by Lil Uzi Vert, A Written Testimony by Jay Electronica, LUV vs. The World 2 by Lil Uzi Vert, Heaven or Hell by Don Toliver, After Hours by the Weeknd, PARTYMOBILE by PARTYNEXTDOOR, Blame It on Baby by DaBaby, Pray For Paris by Westside Gunn and many more.
Could the album of the year already dropped within the first couple months of 2020? Arguably the top two albums (according to popularity, streams, and sales) of 2020 are Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Eternal Atake’ and The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours.’
Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Eternal Atake’ Debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart With Biggest Streaming Week Since 2018 and sold 247,000 pure units. The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours’ is still the leading #1 album in its 4th week and sold 275,000 pure units.
There are many big name artists who have also hinted at dropping in 2020. Such as Young Thug, 21 Savage, Migos, Frank Ocean, Lil Uzi Vert, Drake, Rhianna, and more.
The recent Lil Uzi Vert & Playboi Carti buzz has everyone talking. But what exactly is going on? What events/tweets led up to this? I will be doing my best to explain just that.
Since Uzi released his long awaited ‘Eternal Atake’ along with ‘LUV vs. the World 2’ there then began speculation when Carti would soon follow these releases from Uzi. Uzi then tweeted on March 13th, “Soon as HE drop imma drop again.” Many concluding he was talking about Carti. Then again on April 12th, Uzi then posted and quickly deleted this tweet:
Carti had been quiet up until April 14 when he tweeted the cover art for his new single ‘@ MEH‘. Possibly telling Uzi to @ him on his posts instead of using ‘HE’ or just blatantly tweeting his name.
Uzi then took to Twitter again to let the world know:
Which takes us to today, April 16th, when Carti unexpectedly dropped his new single, ‘@ MEH’ which got a lot of reaction from social media, including, you know it, Uzi.
Not even three hours after Carti dropped his first single since his 2018 album ‘Die Lit’, Uzi tweeted & posted this on Instagram:
Uzi trolling Carti’s song and cover art and transforming it into his own version of it.
Ten minutes later, Carti was back with what could be his final social media play:
Followed five minutes by, you know who:
In my opinion, I think Uzi is trolling Carti. I don’t think Carti has anything to do with what is going on. Carti is just doing his normal social media stuff for his new release. Uzi is well aware of the social media storm in relation to his and Carti’s relationship, and saw his opportunity to stir the pot. I expect a remix of the Carti song from Uzi.
Remember, Carti was the first to tweet, ‘. MoNDay’ so he was planning on dropping something on Monday regardless. Now, whether that be a release date, a new single, the title of the album, tracklist, etc., we will just have to wait and see.
Moments after Carti tweeted “. MoNDaY” Uzi tweeted and quickly deleted this:
Looks like Uzi did “@” Carti
Hard to tell what all this means as it could go any number of direction in the following days. Let us know your thoughts or any details I may have missed in the article in the replies!
After teasing the track on Instagram Live last week, Kid Cudi unleashes his first single in nearly two years titled, ‘Leader of the Delinquents.’ via Twitter. It features a more cocky Cudi over an upbeat instrumental. Could this potentially spark more releases from Cudi as he has hinted at dropping an album in 2020 as well.
Tory Lanez dropped a new single titled “W” on all streaming services today. The song features Tory spitting real bars over a chill instrumental about hardships growing up with backup vocals from Tory himself.
There is speculation that “W” could be the first single from Tory’s highly anticipated new tape ‘New Toronto 3’ that Tory has been teasing on his social media.
The style of the song definitely matches that of past ‘New Toronto’ tapes, and the cover art even has the word ‘Toronto’ on his sons chain as well as matching the black and white cover of the other ‘New Toronto’ tapes.
What is a “Redbone”? and What does “Redbone” mean?
Many artists in the past decade have used the term “Redbone” when referring to a woman. But what actually is a ‘Redbone’? and Where does it come from?
The term “Redbone” originated in Louisiana as a Cajun term for a mixed-race woman, Lil Wayne was one of the first big time rappers to popularize the term.
Lil Wayne is a rapper who has used this slang term many times on many different occasions. But his most popular time using this term has to be from his 2012 song ‘No Worries‘, when he exclaims “You see p*ssy right there, Redbone mangos right there.”
A ‘Redbone’ refers to a very attractive light skin woman.
Turns out a ‘Redbone’ refers to a very attractive black woman whom has red undertones in her hair and skin. Usually light or light caramel. So redbones do not have full African American black skin, but more the color of caramel. So when Wayne says “Redbone mangos right there” , he is referring to an attractive caramel colored woman with nice mangos (breasts).
Difference between a Redbone and Yellowbone?
In relation, the term ‘Yellowbone’ falls under the same category of an attractive lighter skinned woman. However, Yellowbone is considered the lightest type of light skinned black female, far lighter than a redbone.
