Brian Daniel Carenard aka Saigon is an underground legend. His album The Greatest Story Never Told dropped in 2011 after a long and bitter feud with Atlantic Records. He had a recurring role on HBO’s Entourage and has worked with Kanye West, Jay-Z, and other A-List rappers. He’s African American and Haitian.

Saigon went to jail in the late ’90s and picked up rap while inside. He was released in 2000 and got signed to Atlantic but creative differences prevented the release of his album. He is now signed to Strange Music, home of Tech N9ine.

Kimberly Denise Jones aka Lil Kim was born in NYC in 1974. She is best known for her work with Notorious B.I.G. and Bad Boy Records. She is from Brooklyn and got into rap as part of Junoir M.A.F.I.A. and released her solo debut Hard Core in 1996.

Kim’s worked with Diddy, Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Da Brat, and more. In 2005 she served a year in jail for perjury charges. She has become more involved in fashion over the years and is still active as a rapper. More recently she’s worked with Fabolous, Faith Evans, and Remy Ma.

She is known as the Queen Bee and is also given the title “Queen of Rap” as well. In 2019 she was honored with the I Am Hip Hop Award at the BET Hip Hop Honors.

Jaden was born in Malibu in 1998. He’s the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith and brother to Williow Smith. He got his start in acting and turned to music after starring alongside his father in The Pursuit of Happiness and After Earth. He started rapping in 2013 and released the album Syre in 2017. The follow-up Erys was released in 2019.

Jaden is known for his voice acting and fashion in addition to rapping and acting. His nonbinary fashion statements and joke flirting with Tyler the Creator had social media users shaking their heads. He’s dated several high-profile girlfriends including Kylie Jenner and Haily Baldwin.

Detroit rapper Royce da 5’9″ was born Ryan Daniel Montgomery in 1977. He’s known for rapping with Eminem, Slaughterhouse, J. Cole, and DJ Premier. He’s a well-known ghostwriter and solo artist as well. He is known for his wordplay and lyricism.

He’s released 8 solo albums and collaborated as Bad Meets Evil with Eminem and PRhyme with DJ Premier. He had a beef with Proof for some time but the two eventually worked things out before Royce went to jail for a DUI. He is a father and married to his high school sweetheart.

MF DOOM was born on July 13th

Daniel Dumile, known in the rap world as MF DOOM, was born in London on January 13, 1971. The rapper grew up on Long Island, NY, and took on the persona of a supervillain and gained a cult following with his witty lyrics, mysterious persona, and unorthodox delivery. His albums include Operation: Doomsday and Mm..Food, as well as a slew of other projects under different monikers or collaboration albums with the likes of Mad Lib and Danger Mouse.

The rapper was of Trinidadian and Zimbabwean descent. Early in his career, Doom was part of rap group KMD and appeared on the 3rd Bass song “Gas Face” from The Cactus Album. He was a record producer and used his love of comic books to develop his stage persona. Sadly, it was learned via social media that MF Doom passed away on Halloween, 2020.
