    Playboi Carti’s ‘Die Lit’ hits new milestone on Spotify

    Playboi Carti’s debut album, Die Lit, has now surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify around four years after its release.

    The project was released in May 2018 to generally positive reviews. It debuted at No.3 on Billboard 200 selling 61,000 album-equivalent units in the first week

    The album featured Skepta, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Pi’erre Bourne, Nicki Minaj, Bryson Tiller, Chief Keef, Gunna, Red Coldhearted, Young Thug, and Young Nudy.

    The project was preceded by Carti’s self-titled mixtape released in 2017.

    During the 2022 Openair Frauenfeld Festival in Switzerland this Wednesday (July 6), Playboi Carti jumped in to save a couple of fans from being roughed up by security. After the scuffle, Carti kissed and hugged another male fan before disappearing off stage. The clip has gone viral. Later in the show, he stopped to help the crowd to hydrate.

    With regard to his sexuality, Carti told Highsnobiety, “I’m not going out my way to have people like, ‘Oh, what the fuck’s Carti on? Is he gay, or is he trolling?’ No, bro — I don’t give a fuck. I’m being myself. I hate that I waited so long to be myself. I wish I came in like this.”

    A couple of days earlier, Carti fell off the stage at the Wireless Festival in the UK. While his balance may be off, he seems to be having a good time sharing the love on tour.

    Playboi Carti and Kanye might go on tour together


    After going on his ‘NARCIST’ tour in the last quarter of 2021, Playboi Carti is ready to go on the road with Kanye West. In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday (Feb. 23), Carti shared a series of photos portraying his Punk Rockstar persona. But in between the photos, the rapper revealed a short conversation with Ye where the latter asked Carti to go on tour with him.

    “Let’s go on tour,” Ye tells Carti on the chart.

    After holding a listening party in Miami Tuesday night (Feb. 22) and failing to release Donda 2 as scheduled, Ye released four new songs from the album on Wednesday. The songs feature Migos, Travis Scott, Don Toliver and more. As will the full album, the newly released songs are dropped via G.O.O.D Music exclusively on his platform, Stem Player.

    Playboi Carti will feature on the album among the likes of the late XXXTentacion, Soulja Boy, Fivio Foreign, Marilyn Manson, Pusha T, and more.

    The build-up for Playboi Carti’s Whole Lotta Red lasted over two years. The album was finally released on December 25, 2020. He shared the artwork and the release date on December 21 of that very week.

    From festival grounds to headphones, the 25-year-old “mumble rapper” is still in conversations for his sophomore body of work. Here are five facts about the album that made Playboi Carti’s rockstar rapper status more definitive.

    “You got rappers who like being around rappers, and then you got rappers like me who like being around producers,” he said. “I’m always looking for that new sound. I’m a producer-head. That’s what I love. And I’m never stuck on one producer, either. We’re only getting older, and I like having young n-ggas around to tell me what’s fire right now. I ain’t never dropping that album without popping a new producer or giving a producer who’s been going crazy his spotlight. So it was normal to me.”

    Lil Uzi Vert Teases ’16*29′ Joint Project With Playboi Carti

    Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti’s ’16*29′ project was first announced in 2017

    Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti have proved to be a perfect duo thanks to their previous memorable collaborations. The good news is that there is still hope of getting a collab project from the two. 

    On Monday (August 23), Uzi hinted that 16*29, the long-awaited joint tape with Carti, is on the way. “16*29 ? xxxxxxx,” Uzi tweeted.

    To provide assurance to any doubters, the “Chrome Heart Tags” rapper asked fans to confirm with Carti. “Bro just ask carti ? ?,” he wrote in a separate tweet. 

    The joint effort was first teased in September 2017 when Carti posted a pic of Captain Sensible and Dave Vanian of ‘70s London punk stalwarts The Damned with the caption, “Carti Uzi Tape * Uzi Carti Tape * 16.29.”

    The title is inspired by the respective neighborhoods the two artists come from. Uzi is from the 1600 block in Philly and Carti is from the 2900 block in Atlanta.
