Post Malone, born Austin Richard Post, revealed how he got the name at the beginning of his career.

“My names Austin Post, I was looking for a name because i already had all these song and I was looking for a name and I couldn't think of anything so i put my name in the name generator i'm sitting there, i'm f*ckin 14…” Post Malone told Noisey.

“We were all hanging out, chilling and drinking and then we were like, ‘Oh, Wu-Tang name generator, let's put our name in,'” Post Malone later revealed on “The Tonight ” back in 2011. “And we're putting them all in, and they're all funny and stuff, and then mine came up and I was like, ‘you guys, it's not funny anymore. This is something big.' I just really liked it.”
