Cardi B is the first female rapper to earn three diamond singles

Cardi B’s diamond singles: “I Like It with J. Balvin,” “Bodak Yellow,” and “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5.

Cardi B woke up to great news on Monday (December 13) that her collaborative single with J Balvin and Bad Bunny “I Like It” became certified diamond after selling 10 million units in the United States.

Bardi’s latest diamond plaque, which was the fourth single off her debut album Invasion of Privacy, adds up to Bodak Yellow, another single from the album, and “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5. This makes the New York star the first female rapper to score three diamond singles and the second woman to ever earn the status after Katy Perry.

“Wow I’m sooo happy 🥺😭☺️! My album came out in 2018 and it’s still breaking records. I have a solo 💎 record, a feature 💎 record and now ANOTHER 💎 record from a collab with 2 people that I look up to and love so much, @jbalvin & @badbunnypr 😱!” She wrote on an Instagram post.

“I remember like it was yesterday when this song went #1 and now it’s Diamond. I honestly just can’t believe this is happening! I’m so proud to have two songs off my debut album go Diamond. I hope I can achieve the same or even better on my next one 🙏🏼. Thank you everyone that has supported and loved this record💛💛.”
