Kid Cudi Previews new song with Playboi Carti at Paris show

Kid Cudi and Playboi Carti seem to have a new collaboration song on the way, as Cudi teased the new song during a recent stop in Paris during his ‘To The Moon’ world tour.

The concert footage circulating online shows Cudi playing the unreleased track in front of a packed venue in Paris, France. The crowd erupted after hearing the new song samples the familiar classic Cudi track ‘Solo Dolo (Nightmare)‘ from Cudi’s 2009 Man on the Moon album.

This would be Playboi Carti and Kid Cudi’s second official collab after collaborating on on Carti’s Whole Lotta Red song ‘M3tamorphosis‘. Although they both have ties with Kanye and have worked together before, they even have a heavily sought after unreleased song from fans titled ‘Kid Cudi’ or ‘Pissy Pamper’. (I prefer the first naming) with an added unreleased Cudi verse leaking shortly before WLR dropped.

Let’s hope Solo Dolo part 4 gets an official release.

5 Facts about Drake & 21 Savage’s album ‘Her Loss’

Whenever Drake and 21 Savage hit a song together, most could agree the outcome was phenomenal. With songs like ‘Knife Talk‘, ‘Sneakin‘ and ‘Jimmy Cooks‘, the duo always seemed to have great chemistry on a track.

Now the famous duo has dropped a 16 song collab album titled, Her Loss. The album dropped on November 4th, 2022 and is set to sell 390k units first week and be No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, including 425-450 million on-demand streams.

Here is 5 facts about the album.

5 – Lil Yachty chose the album cover and was a major contributor to the album

5 Facts about Drake & 21 Savage's album 'Her Loss'
Drake and Yachty at Drake’s birthday party on October 24th

Even before Drake and 21 Savage’s collaborative album was released, the cover art for Her Loss had fans intrigued, and it was successfully proposed by none other than the “Poland” rapper, Lil Yachty.

Following the release of Her Loss, Yachty revealed in his Instagram post that he chose the cover while also stating the reason behind his decision.

The rapper called Qui Yasuka’s picture “so raw, so authentic, not fabricated” while giving a shout-out to the model. The model, who also goes by the social media name “Suki Baby,” is also an adult dancer in Texas.

Yachty also helped write and or produce the tracks, “Major Distrubution”, “BackOutsideBoyz”(Yachty also added Ad-libs to this track), “Privileged Rappers,” “Pussy & Millions” and “Jumbotron Shit Poppin.”

Drake recently took to Instagram to show love to his fellow rapper and friend for heavily contributing to his album.

4 – Famous producers Metro Boomin, Wheezy, and Tay Keith both helped produce songs on the album

Both Wheezy and Tay Keith helped produce “Broke Boys” and Tay Keith helped produce the famous Daft Punk sampled “Circo Loco”.

Metro Boomin solely produced the song ‘More M’s’. Leading many to speculate that it teases Metro’s highly anticipated new blockbuster album Heroes & Villains, dropping in December 2022.

3 – Drake has double the airtime of 21 Savage on the album

In a tweet by @HipHopNumbers it is claimed that Drake had 66% of the lyrics on the album compared to 21 savage much lower 26%.

In comparison, Future had almost double the airtime of Drake on their collab project, ‘What a Time To Be Alive‘.

2 – 21 Savage encouraged Drake to call out multiple rappers and celebrities on the album

The album is full of disses , as some of them are more straight forward than others, 21 Savage has gone on record in an interview with Akademics, saying he encouraged Drake to drop the disses on the album. Stating, “I told him to talk his sh*t, whatever he stand on I stand on”.

The dis lines include shots at Meg the Stallion, Serena William’s husband, DRAM, Pusha-T, Kanye West, Ice Spice, and more.

In a YouTube video by Pearl Fountain, they explain most of the disses (whether they were subliminal or not).

1 – Drake and 21 Savage have teased going on tour together in the near future

During a conversation with 21 on Drake’s SiriusXM radio show, Table for One, Drake states “I’m excited for the tour, and just another opportunity for me to be with my brother and, just, I mean shit our set that night is going to be dangerous.” 21 seemed to agree.

DailyRapFacts will be sure to update fans on any upcoming Drake or 21 savage concert dates.

Although Her Loss came with its fair share of controversy, great collaboration albums like this from two of the top rappers in the game is very rare. The album also did its job of getting Drake and 21 the attention and streams they wanted.

    Her Loss.

It was released on the iTunes Store and Apple Music, and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and sold 334,000 copies in its first week.

With such a monumental album, naturally come a five facts article by DailyRapFacts. Enjoy!

5 – Drake & Future recorded ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ in Atlanta in 6 days.

What a Time to Be Alive was allegedly born out of an impromptu, six-day recording session between the duo in Future’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

Drake told Rolling Stone, “It’s a little soundtrack for people that need it right now. I went to Atlanta for six days with the hopes of doing some songs with Future, and when you get around Future, it’s like a vortex, that guy can outwork anybody right now. It’s tough to see someone do four, five songs in one night and not try to match it.”

4 – ‘Digital Dash’ was the first song they made for the project and ‘Jumpman’ was the last song the duo created for the project.

‘Digital Dash’ was presented as a finished piece to Drake prior to him getting on the song.

‘Jumpman’ would be the highest selling and most popular song from the album. The song was eventually certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for combined sales and streaming units of over four millions units.

In an interview with Fader, What a Time to be Alive executive producer Metro Boomin recalled one of the song’s sessions. “I remember, it was like six in the morning, I had been up in the studio all night mixing beats. And Drake come in in the middle of the night to f–k with ‘Jumpman. Drake was playing the new verse,” he added. “And I heard ‘Jumpman, jumpman. Metro Boomin on production, wow.’ and I knew it was going to be a hit.”

    3. After a commercial featuring Taylor Swift rapping to ‘Jumpman’ while running on a treadmill, downloads of the song increased by 431%.

Apple released a commercial for Apple Music featuring Taylor Swift rapping along to the song and accidentally falling face first on the treadmill, which ultimately became very popular and was dubbed as ‘TAYLOR vs TREADMILL’. Following the premiere of the commercial, downloads of the song increased by 431%. According to Swift, the storyline was based on true events.

3- WATTBA marked the second project for both artists to chart at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2015.

If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late for Drake and DS2 for future, respectively

2- Future gets almost double the airtime of Drake on the album.

Future having the majority of the bars and time on the album led many to understand the true time that went into the album. Doing it in 6 days in Futures hometown, Atlanta, with the majority of Future’s crew and producers its no wonder it sounds like a Future album with Drake added in.

1 -There were rumors of a sequel to the album dropping late 2018 early 2019.

5 facts bout Drake & Future's 'What A Time To Be Alive' album

In an Instagram story posted back in April 2019, Drake can be seen throwing up the deuces, saying “What’s that? We gotta cook that up, that two.” Future then hints at the fact that the album is already done, “It’s already cooked.”

  • Breaking down Lil Uzi Vert’s new EP ‘RED & WHITE’

Breaking down Lil Uzi Vert’s new EP ‘RED & WHITE’

Lil Uzi Vert is back with a brand new EP titled ‘RED & WHITE’. The EP is full of grails that fans have been waiting to receive the finished version of for years.

In an Instagram post by Uzi on July 18, 2022, the rapper posted the EP cover with the caption “Red & White Ep …. Before The P!NK 🔴⚪️=👩🏽‍🎤 “

Many speculate Uzi is teasing his awaited next full project, the ‘P!NKTAPE‘ which has been teased with snippets by Uzi himself on his Instagram.

But before we get to the ‘P!NKTAPE‘ era, let’s dive into the newly released EP.

RED & WHITE‘ is a 9* track EP officially released on streaming, July 22nd, 2022 by Atlantic Records.

The Spotify and Apple release of the EP differs from the SoundCloud release due to Uzi releasing 4 songs as singles on Spotify/Apple Music before the official release on SoundCloud. So the tracklists are different.

*Technically the EP is 10 songs according to the SoundCloud version that was dropped first. But the 7th song, ‘BELIEVE ME‘ sample did not clear for streaming on major streaming platforms.

Whatever the story, the EP is officially out now on Apple, Spotify, and Soundcloud, – So let’s break down the history and details of the EP tracks. Shoutout to Genius.com for having some info on these grail tracks.

    1- SPACE CADET

The first single off of ‘RED & WHITE’, “SPACE CADET” was released without warning via Uzi’s SoundCloud on July 17, in an Instagram post Uzi stated, “OUT NOW!!! We back on SoundCloud!”

The song was at first thought to be intended to release on Uzi’s 2017 album ‘Luv Is Rage 2‘ — ultimately not making the cut.

    3- FLEX UP

“FLEX UP” serves as the third promotional single. The song marks the awaited reunion of Uzi with producer Maaly Raw. The track was originally previewed in January of 2017 through Uzi’s Instagram live. The track was also expected to appear on ‘Luv is Rage 2‘, and did not make an appearance.

    7- BELIEVE ME

“BELIEVE ME” is the only song that did not make streaming service due to sample clearance issues. The sample was from the song “You’re So Vain” by Marilyn Manson. First previewed on April 17 2017 in a Uzi IG story, this is a classic Uzi rager song produced by Maaly Raw. So it is too bad it could not get cleared, check it out on SoundCloud here.

Rumors stated that later that day, Uzi requested for his fan pages to remove the posts that included the new songs that he previewed as he meant them to be only heard by the people in the group chat, and the snippets were just a way to test the waters for his upcoming third studio album “The Pink Tape”.

  • Drake set to drop new album ‘HONESTLY, NEVERMIND’ 6/17

Drake set to drop new album ‘HONESTLY, NEVERMIND’ 6/17

“Drizzy ’bout to drop, the game is in disarray” – Drake ‘8 out of 10’

The #1 artist in the world will drop his seventh studio album, ‘HONESTLY, NEVERMIND’ at 12midnight ET.

This was confirmed suddenly and surprisingly by Drake himself via Instagram post.

What can we expect from this sudden drop from Drizzy?

Surprise drops from the Toronto rapper are not uncommon. For example ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ and ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’ both were unannounced mixtapes until hours before release.

This time, however, is the first time a studio album is being surprise dropped, adding to the hype and conception of things.

‘HONESTLY, NEVERMIND’, comes 9 months after Drake’s last studio album, ‘Certified Lover Boy’, which depicted 9 pregnant emojis as the cover, again, adding to the hype and conception.

So what can we expect from this sudden surprise album?

Considering ‘CLB’ was composed of leaked songs with added verses, and swapped songs from other albums, with a majority of the music aimed at Drake’s beef with Kanye, I expect this album to be a more complete body of work.

Drizzy has always thrived in the Summer music vibe and I don’t expect anything less here.

Guess features based on leaks, features, and rappers Drake has associated with these past few months include:

    -Kanye

    -J-Cole

    -Travis Scott

    -Future

    -French Montana

    -Jack Harlow

    -Gunna

    -Young Thug

Can’t wait to see what this album has in store.

  • Synopsis of Kanye’s ‘Donda 2’ listening event

Synopsis of Kanye’s ‘Donda 2’ listening event

    Donda 2 listening experience

Just three short months ago, Kanye West released the deluxe version of his long-awaited tenth studio album, Donda. Which included five new songs on top of the original Donda album, totaling in 32 new songs. The road to Donda was paved with theatrics, drama, and entertainment unsurprisingly, the last few months have been filled with even more drama.

This drama includes a complicated divorce and custody battle with Kanye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian, beef with Kim’s new boy toy Pete Davidson, publicly calling out Billie Eilish and long-time collaborator and friend, Kid Cudi, and more.

This drama led to the hype of a new listening event announced by Kanye himself on an Instagram post in January. This listening event would feature unreleased songs from Donda 2, Kanye’s next album, which is executively produced by Future. This led many to believe it would be a less religion-focused album and more trap rap-influenced. The event would take place on 2-22-22 in LoanDepot Park, Miami, home of the Miami Marlins.

Prior to the show, streaming of backstage cameras where available on Kanye’s website, KanyeWest.com, which revealed Elon Musk, Rick Ross, Jack Harlow, and Kanye’s children were in attendance. The park filled in at around half capacity with eager and anxious fans ready to get a new glimpse of what Kanye had cooked up in just three short months. The show began about an hour and 30 minutes late, and started with a heartbeat sound which many believed was actually Kanye’s real heartbeat backstage.

Soon enough Kanye emerged, sporting his usual Donda era attire- black everything including tall yeezy boots. However, this was the first listening party Ye was not wearing a mask, but instead had clear contact lenses in (seen below).

Synopsis of Kanye's 'Donda 2' listening event

The show started with the replica home of Kanye and Donda West (which was shown at the last Donda listening event in Chicago) raging in flames but then being put out by water which surrounded the home as the stage. The first song started, which happened to feature a hook from the late Florida rapper, XXXTENTACION, who grew up just thirty minutes away. The new unreleased songs rang through the stadium with cheers as Ye danced and sang along. What stood out with this show was the amazing visuals provided by the reflecting water as Ye seemed to literally ‘walk on water’ around the replica home portraying his emotions of the songs.

Synopsis of Kanye's 'Donda 2' listening event

The album featured an array of artists such as Future, Migos, Travis Scott, Baby Keem, Playboi Carti, Soulja Boy, XXXTentacion, Jack Harlow, Don Toliver, Vory, and more.

Donda 2 has a different vibe to it than its predecessor, featuring more aggressive rap and trap style drums than the softer religious influenced Donda. However, I am sad to report that Donda 2 is no where near finished. Many of the songs had demo verses from Kanye, which could be heard as him just mumbling over the beat trying to find his flow for whenever he wants to complete it. The album also desperately needs some professional mixing done to it. All we can do now is wait for an announcement of another listening party and hope Ye and his keeps working on it until completion.

Can’t wait for the next stage in Donda 2’s rollout, stay tuned.

  • Gunna’s ‘DS4EVER’ outsells The Weeknd’s ‘Dawn FM’ 1st Week

    Gunna’s ‘DS4EVER’ outsells The Weeknd’s ‘Dawn FM’ 1st Week

Gunna and The Weeknd ignited the new year by dropping solo albums early 2022.

The Weeknd releasing his psychedelic, r&b 80s-feeling album, Dawn FM. Gunna dropped the fourth installment of his drip season mixtapes, DS4EVER, which sold 150k units the first week. Beating out his last project, WUNNA which had 113k in 2020.

Related content: Stream Gunna’s ‘Drip Season 4’ album

Many predicted The Weeknd to sell well over 250k, but with little marketing and hype to the radio station-themed album, Abel sold only 148k. This is infrequently low for The Weeknd, who sold over 440k first week with his 2020 album, After Hours. The difference in sales between the two boys of works is an estimate 60%.
